Where Lullabies Die

Where Lullabies Die

A Poem by Oliver Covington

I’ve been down

Where lullabies die

Teddy bears go feral,

And good night kisses burn.

Darkness interwoven

With screams and curses

And breaking glass

Stinking from Pall mall cigarettes and vodka

Childhood frayed at the edges, eaten by moths,

Full of holes letting in the cold
