The Last of the Rain

The Last of the Rain

A Poem by Oliver Covington

The last of the rain slinked off,

Quite embarrassed

At the mess it had made

Of the sky

Crumbs of thunder

And shards of lightning

Scattered about

Like remnants of a tantrum

The imagery of "crumbs of thunder" and "shards of lightning" scattered about portrays the aftermath of the storm, resembling the remnants of a tantrum. Loved it.
