Sweet Dianna

Sweet Dianna

A Story by Steve
"

This lady is the first friend that I ever had in the online world.......

"
      My Friend from Down Under

I came across her profile quite by surprise

A lady seeking friends-No matter the age, No matter the gender

I wanted to write to her She appeared open minded
She seemed to be an innocent, kind soul-Without an agenda

I wanted to get this pretty brunette's attention
To read what she would say to me

Would she be true to my first impression
Or would she in reality be someone else?

Hey cool! She replied right away
She wrote, and she wrote me some more
She said, 'I've never written so much to someone at first before.'

She asked me about the events of Sept 11th
I asked her about being Down Under
She told me about her poetry and about Starlite
I told her I hadn't ever written poetry before

Dianna sent me pictures of herself. I was impressed but
What is this jpeg thing all about?
I finally figured out how to send some pics of myself
Hmmm. She thinks I look nice.

Being new to the cyber world and not having an online friend before
How often should I write? Daily, weekly, whenever the mood strikes?

I had never written to anyone before in this way before
This is nice!

Dianna is a real person who makes me smile, listens to me when I am down, and happily relates events from her own life.

Nearly 9 years now. Has it really been this long? This has lasted longer than many marriages!

Steve and Dianna,
Friends always

awww a sweet dedication, full of love and happiness. Not all cyber friendships are bad, I've had a few bad and a few that have good... everything has it pros and cons and seems like you found one that has come of good!...

I enjoyed reading this. You did a great job describing your frindship.

You did good. The internet was new to me, too, not so long ago. And like you, I've made some excellent friends from all over the world. May your internet friendship last forever.

You did great! I was so absorbed into the story. I felt like i was sitting next to you and you were talking to me in person. I felt her realness, began to even like her, relate to her. Wow, your imagery in this was exceptional. That's what makes a great writer, when what is brought forth can be felt, not just read, and you are right on the money with this one.

Oh yea.

Nice story about someone you obviously care for. I had an online friendship too. It ended in disaster, especially after we met. Which goes to show you that you can't really know a person until you meet and spend time with them IN person. If I had it all to do over, I would have left it as an online acquaintance and nothing more. We'd both been better off. Just my advise, I suppose. Take it for what you will.
