When it rain it poursA Poem by Fallen king
There’s a lack of sunlight only gray in the sky
As the light mist of fall turn to hurricanes of summer The trees continue swaying And the streets keep on flooding But for some reason I still want to drive in this weather I’m swerving My car hydroplanes as I try to slam the breaks Another close call as I avoid the car in front of me I let out a sigh of relief, though my mind is heavy That other part of me wishes for collision just to see what at the other side of the rainbow It’s too much to bare As the streets keep on flooding While everyone else grabs shelter All I do is hit the gas and pray for the best Or maybe the worst The radio gets louder so I can drown out the noise But the voices keep on screaming till the only thing I hear is a bang Then the sound of crumpled metal The strong smell of copper fills my nostrils with delight My mouth it taste like pennies and my visions going red The radio starts playing but the tune is so mundane The world starts turning faster, as I’m greeted by the night And I’m filled with disappointment ‘cause I didn’t see the light © 2019 Fallen king |
