Lucifer shares his views on the current situation

Faint is the name that we have given our new home, a new planet, a new beginning, I know little of what happened or what is to happen in the near or distant future, I only speculate. Resources are scares, we manage by recycling over 90 percent of our waste, or that is what I have read, they tell us we will be able to live like this for many years to come, who knows.

Who are they? They are the foundation, the leaders of our so called society, we eat, we work, we sleep, we do little of what actually matters, living, and people don’t even question it, maybe because we cannot afford to, but they want to keep it that way, because it benefits them, and the military.

I like to run up to the hills and look over the citadel, and write, write about how and why. Why am I writing this down? Maybe because I’m lonely, or maybe because I like to escape the harsh realities of today, I live with my parents, I am an only child and I like it, much simpler. My father works at the dome power plant, he repairs and maintains the generators, always enough work for him, not that we are complaining, he earns his share, but the generators need to be running at all times, at maximum efficiency, or else the oxygen escapes, Faint’s atmosphere is much thicker and heavier than our normal breathing air, so it needs to be contained, so we won’t suffocate. 

We used to walk around with oxygen respirators at all times in our noses, but it quickly became a nuisance and was causing way to many deaths, so it was replaced by the atmosphere containment dome or in short ACD, it utilizes Faint’s intense magnetic fields to contain the air, I don’t know how, they didn’t mention that in the tour, they say it’s absolutely harmless, but I have noticed by digging around that ever since that dome was put up, our average life expectancy has been cut shorter by approximately 10 years, no one noticed, because it is way too comfortable, and it not only gives us air, but it respells the local wildlife too, not to mention the dome is over 200 years old, they refuse to update to newer more efficient methods, they say it can cause more harm than good, and you should leave good enough alone.
