Winter Drives My Soul

Winter Drives My Soul

At this time of year
It always seems to be so clear
When I walk down the road
It seems like there's some kind of code
With all the snow around
I can never be bound
It was like this last year
But this year I have nothing to fear
Everything seems to disappear
The thought of anything is behind me
I see things you'll never see
Snow is such a peaceful thing
Each year the birds seem to sing
At this time I begin to think
That I'll never sink
I love the joyous songs
No matter what has gone wrong
The moon is full
But my eyes are so dull
Winter drives my soul
Even if my heart is made of coal
Winter makes me all full with joy
While snow is like a cold toy
I have loved winter for so long
That I've forgotten our song
Nature has a hold of my heart
Even with all its marks
I will never know
How much these winds blow
But I don't need to fear
For I have all my gear
