Self-CannibalA Poem by CzarinaThey say you can't eat your problems. The story of Kathleen the "self-cannibal." Part of my Monster Watch series. (http://zee126.deviantart.com/gallery/59273336/Devious-Folder)Oh hello, this little creature Seems so hungry and abandoned Follow me, right behind my heels Maybe I can find you something tasty Oh hello, reflected in your eyes Was the younger intact me Next I knew my fingers were stubs How long until I noticed the twinge? My hands, my feet Swallowed them down My blood, my breath Swallowed them down My thoughts, my soul My, you have grown rather large Everybody calls me Stupid, moron, lunatic child Crybaby, loser, all those words Make me appear appetizing and helpless Don't look at me like that Once you devoured me whole Life kept dragging me along Walking around wearing your skin My belly is rumbling Oh hello, something in my teeth? Leftovers of my awful self Digesting deep inside of me I drown my flaws in stomach acid Oh hello, a charming human He looks rather lonely, does he? Not for long, another monster Is about to make a meal of him His arms, his legs Swallowed them down His eyes, his smile Swallowed them down His words, his life Now he looks a lot like me No, don't you dare Hurt somebody like that again Wasn't I already enough for you? Though I’m stuffed down your throat I want to save him Can I also be a hero Despite the self torment I make? If I could help someone else This stomach ache might leave Cloy with every Sort of upturned emotion Your voice sounds a lot like mine Although I blame my faults on you I’m the one whom I hate Laughing into my hands Bile rises past my heart Collapsing under your cravings Until my plate is clean Bite and chew and swallow until Not a slice of bad me remains © 2016 Czarina |
