AcquaintancesA Chapter by GodsOfNeutralityAkuma POV "Hey boss." I looked down at Brion. We had just gotten to New York and landed in a city. "Where are we?" Kritanta had never been to America and had the curiosity of a child. He had a decent tan, with neck-length black hair and two different eye colors. His right was bright green and the other was a bright orange. Brion was completely different. He had little to no interest in things and just wandered around aimlessly at times. He was pale, with short blonde hair and silver eyes. They were both equally frustrating and both equally incompetent. "It's downtown Manhattan." Brion said nonchalantly, wandering over to the edge. "Whoa! So this is what it's like. The buildings are huge!" Kritanta jumped up and down on the edge smiling. "Careful. We want them hurt not you hurt." "I know, I know," he brushed his hair out his face and looked down at the streets. "So what's the plan?" Brion asked. "We have fun," Kritanta said. "No monster can resist a humans bloody scream as they are crushed under a building." His eyes sparkled then thinned out becoming slits. Fangs grew in among his normal teeth. "Okay," Brion followed him his eyes changing. "Take care, but remember we only want to draw them out not kill them in the process," I waved them away and they jumped off the building. I waited for the carnage to end. From above the city, I saw buildings crumble and collapse as two blurs sped around the city crashing into buildings and killing the humans that survived. Soon most of the buildings were gone. And still no sign of the monsters. I got up and sighed, ready to call out to them when an engine revved up below me. It was a motorcycle, the rider getting off to look at the damage. Kritanta and Brion stopped to look at him. Suddenly, faster than my eyes could register, he grabbed Brion and flipped him over his back. Then he turned to Kritanta, punching him in the stomach before grabbing his head and bashing it into his knee. I hissed my teeth at his incompetence when Brion leapt at him. I smiled, which was short lived. The rider turned dodging his first punch and grabbing his arm. He flung Brion to the ground and placed his foot on his chest. Before leaping down, I used my flames to change my facial features. "Get off him." He ignored me grinding his foot in more. "Bad move," I said as flames erupted around me. The person stood there before lightning crackled into existence around him. "So you're one of the monsters. That makes this more interesting," I said taking my stance. He rushed me throwing a punch at my left side. I sighed, blocking him before throwing a right cross. His head didn't move but his helmet shattered. As the broken pieces fell away I was met with animalistic gold-green eyes. His hair was black with a red streak over his left eye. He growled and used his other hand to punch me in the stomach. "That was my favorite helmet." Lightning danced across his body as he stepped away from me. He changed, ears forming on the top of his head and a bushy tail formed at the base of his spine. "That was a good punch," I said my own flames taking shape as a set of wings, two horns, and a long arrow tipped tail. "So allow me to show you one of mine." I jabbed, which he ducked under. I pivoted landing an uppercut. He flipped, landing a sharp kick to my jaw. "Back in Japan, there was a lightning-wielding monster with an abstract fighting style that killed other monsters. You had quite the reputation." "You must be the Akuma then. You caused the fire in Japan the other day." "What did the natives call you?" I asked as they had a habit of labeling us monsters. A siren went off as a squad of police cars drove up. "You over there. Leave now before we open fire." I stretched out my hand and a wall of flame blocked them off. "Answer the question." "Okami Arashi. Now get your friends and leave. I can't fight with humans around." He climbed on his bike and drove through the flame wall. © 2017 GodsOfNeutrality |
