HatredA Chapter by GodsOfNeutrality
Torina POV
"Did you see the way his eyes sparkled?" Sam had been in a state of pure ecstasy since we left Hunter's house. Which annoyed me. "What's so special about him?" I stopped and looked at her. She turned to me. "Are you jealous?" "Answer the question." She shrugged. "I don't know. He just has that aura. Makes me want to get to know him more." She walked over to me. "Don't be jealous. We've been friends this long so don't ruin it now." She then brushed the snow off my shoulder. "Come on. Let's go home." I nodded as she started walking. For some reason I felt guilty. Which made me hate Hunter even more. I pushed it to the back of my mind and followed her. I closed the door and took off my jacket. Sam went to the kitchen to grab some popcorn. I sat down in the couch which was one of the only pieces of furniture in the living room. I picked up the remote and flipped through channels before getting bored. "Sam! Isn't there something else to do?" She walked in the room, holding a bowl of popcorn and frowned. "Aren't we supposed to be working on the presentation?" "Can we watch a movie? You already have the popcorn." "What am I gonna do with you?" I smiled. "I'll make a deal with you. If we watch a movie now, I'll work on the presentation later." She put the bowl down and laughed. "I'm not falling for the same trick twice. Last time you said that, we stayed up past 7 just to finish it." "At least we got it finished." "Fine, we'll watch the movie on one condition." "And what is that?" "You got to do what I say for 1 month. No questions asked," she said sticking out her hand."Deal?" I shook her hand. "Deal." "Good. Now start the project." "The hell! That wasn't the deal!" "We'll still watch the movie. After the project is done." She went for her laptop while I grabbed our notes from class. It was a history project about the way humans have countered monster attacks from ancient times. She came back and sat the computer down. "When we present, you'll work the computer and I'll actually present." I nodded. "Okay. So what do you want to be shown?" "See if you can find a documentary about monster behavior. From there we'll figure out the rest," she said handing me the computer. I typed in what we needed and a list came up. The first one was about a huge wave of monster attacks in Asia and Europe a couple of years back. I went back to the list and saw an article named "The True Owners of the Planet." I opened it and read over a couple paragraphs. "Humans are the real threat. Without their interference monsters wouldn't attack. Instead we have more humans dying each year than monsters. Humans should just give up and die." I closed the article. "Find anything?" Sam asked. "No not yet." I went back to work, trying to forget the article I just read. © 2017 GodsOfNeutrality |
