AmeliaA Story by Dopey22Story little something I made up for as a bedtime storyLong long ago there was fair maiden. She lived by the sea with her mama and her papa. One day a heavy storm blew in, her papa was out at sea when the storm came in. Her mama paced and paced. The maiden just stared at the fire and curled her toes. Lighten struck, there was a loud bang and the a crash. Her mama ran to the window and uttered a small gasp The fair maiden headed to the window and saw her papa's boat broken in half. She grabbed her cloak and headed for the door. Her mama grabbed her arm and pulled her back "Mama please, they might still be alive." Her mama shock her head and let her go. When the fair maiden opened the dorr, the last of the sails were sinking. They waited and waited and finally the sun broke out from behind the heavy clouds. The fair maiden ran out her house and down the winding road towards the shore. The villagers had gather 'round to stare at the damages, the fair maiden coould only stare at the washed up boards of what was once her papa's ship. The water slowly brought a piece of board to her feet. She picked it up and read her name on the board Amelia. Her papa and his crew were never found, but some have seen the Amelia sailing home on stormy nights. © 2008 Dopey22 |
