Decomposing Canopy

1112/4/13 This was written to represent an idea I continue to have about beauty. I see it in everything. On broken bones and petals, on floorboards and in coffins. Each see it elsewhere, I suppose...

The underworld that dances,
That frantically prances in a strangers eye
Is anothers simple sublime.

Captured and set alight on a pedestal,
Your picture of an eternal heaven is not
Mine.

Deceiving drops of ink on futile bloodshed scrolls glisten in the dark,
To a heart we'll never know yet greet at the door with compassion.

A decomposing canopy of corpses screams to me through silence
As it defiles the iris of an unnamed man
Who reaches for the apple I am blind to,
Hidden behind my favourite tree.

A platinum breeze is anothers burden -
The one on his knees is the others fool.

My mind is a chest
And while empty at best to the explorer of a golden cage,
It's filled with fruit to you.

Shattered pieces fit like a puzzle
In an empty frame hanging from the wall
But please me on the floor.
This conscious crooked smile appears on a page in equal distortion.
For it carries a blade,
And wears a shade of pink ballet shoes,
In utopia and Hell.

The end is before the shutter button.
Perfection breaks the lense and pirouettes beyond

This is perhaps the longest piece I've actually posted so if you make your way through it all I thank you!

Not everyone believes in heaven or hell, the ones beyond this life. And there is beauty to be found, something to be learned along every point in the circle of life.
And this was an incredibly beautiful piece, the last two lines in particular...

my idea of heaven? sort of like in this poem... it is tangible, real life...experience.

not just the frills, or the fancy stuff, or the easy stuff....it is what we find through trial and error and what we appreciate accomplishing...that is heaven.

Much beauty in life is undiscovered, it is not until we often close our eyes and think, of the layers to everything in the world that we can then open them to serenity. Where is the pleasure in something easy, simple? After all we are inquisitive beings, and what appears to us as complex and challenging is usually a gift of life in itself.
