A Poem by Chloe

Emotions aren't just personal
They're physical
How can I deny the emotions,
When they control the very notions
Of my actions
And reactions
The fire to my being
Of all that I hold within my keeping
I will work and fight
To make all I want right
But I won't sacrifice my heart
For someone who won't take part
In making sure that my wellness
Won't be in their mind's caress
I will love within all my hearts desire
And I'm not taking applications for hire
I know who I want and that will not falter
I refuse to change what I cannot alter
Because I'm happy
And that is key
To all of my success
So I'll push aside the excess
Nagging and badgering of those who have no clue
About what it means to be in love with someone like you
Call me a sap, a fool or a romantic
But my heart does not tick
Like the way it does when you say my name
With the others who came
And forced me to feel ashamed
Of who I was and who I could be
But you, you see only me
The universe is yours, if that is what you please
Say the word, let me bring you ease
I don't believe in many things, but one of which is fate
And for all the joy you bring me I will happily await
For the day you pull me into your arms and kiss me soundly
Taking my breath away like you do so profoundly
Swearing to me that hurting me will be a never
Whispering softly in my ear, "You're mine forever."

A interesting poem. Open the door to many questions.
"How can I deny the emotions,

Few people can control their desire and emotion. A strength and a weakness. I like the way you question and made strong statement in the favor of love and emotion. I believe if we have a close door to love and friendship. What will we have left? A excellent poem.

I too have a sappy romance filled head. I really enjoyed this...the words, the rhyme, the emotions and the flow all combine so perfectly. Nicely done, my dear!

You are right, this is a little bit of a sappy poem. But this is a sappy poem full of real emotions, which makes it different from other sappy poems. Nice!

Yea, it was a little sappy, but a nice sappy. The line,"With the others who came
And forced me to feel ashamed", was a nice touch as it brought more emotion to it.

Saw the title the same as one of my poems, laughed at the complete opposite content we have. Meditating on the importance of emotions creates a sound poem.
