Changing like the seasons

Changing like the seasons

A Poem by OhSnapShley

You tear me down from my pedestal
breaking me into a million pieces
and then you sweep me up into one again
hoping the damaged you caused doesn't last as long as the last time
I pull myself from the depths were you have dragged me
and climb back onto my pedestal again
where I finally manage to find her
not quite the same as before
It took so long for me to get there
but I managed to make the journey once again
looking around I start to notice the changes
things I never use to do
but these are the reprecussions
of the effects left over by you
as you beg to differ with all I say
fighting with me about any little thing
I start to see that its true
not only have I changed
but so have you...

People change. Sometimes you start to see someone in another point of view that changes everything. You may one day see the ugly side of someone or you might one day find something more alluring about them. Everyone changes on the "pedestal". You must grow and appreciate these changes if able.

Relationships changing forever with time and life moves on. The only thing that wins above everything is time! Well done!

It's true we changed by relationships, whether we want to accept it or not. Many times the changes go unnoticed.

The size of the font caught me off guard. :)

An accurate portrayal of two people who seem to have known one another for quite a while. Then comes the subtle changes in the person that are barely discernible at the time until they grow into something you can't help but notice.

I like to see this as two lovers that both change and don't really recognize each other anymore. Anyway, besides some grammar issues I really love this poem because it is all too true.

Pretty cool! I'm usually not a fan of non-rhyming poetry, but I liked this one. Keep it up!

Logical ending to the poem. You are right. When two people tangle. Both shall change. Nice flow of thoughts led to truthful ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Very relatable write......

Just as the seasons change, so do we as a result of our lives and experiences. Sometimes our sunny dispositions are replaced by cold hearted moments of depression, only to again bloom like the flowers of spring. It is the cycle of life and one that we all must endure.

Nice to see another write from you, OhSnaps. Keep them coming. Merry Christmas.

This is exactly how it is, you portrayed that well. Very much relatable... I noticed some typos btw, though none which affect the overall message. Nicely penned, OSS :)
