Loney Prison

Loney Prison

A Poem by E.M.Oglesbee

Longing for an escape I wait.

On my knees I weep,

Never to see the sun again.

Eternally trapped in my sorrow,

Love seems to be a distant memory,

Yelling for me to return to it.

Punishment for a crime I did not commit.

Revenge is a wine I will never taste,

Isolated from reality I sit.

Salvation is not possible from my lonely prison,

On an abandoned island in the dark.

Now I wait for an escape that will never come
