Winter's taleA Poem by Odette NtambaraInspired by Enya - "The Memories of Trees"In the forest greens I find myself, Carefully and quietly I continue on my path, I notice the clouds heavy with rain so I pick up my pace And suddenly the clouds give in to the mass, and rain begins to drop Trying to find shelter, I wrap in my body on the foot of the tree like a lost puppy in a cold winter’s day I see light rays out in the distance and a realisation sneaks up on me
Its time, that time when I must stand up and walk...crawl if I must It’s that time when all seems lost but not gone It’s that time to move with the wind and hope where I stop is where am meant to be Up in the sphere...cloud nine Up in the sky, free flying Trying hard to reach that place, the place where birds fly high It’s time for my enthusiasm to overwhelm my reality, I whisper to myself!
The wind blows to the west, am compelled to follow Am thrilled for a new beginning past this downpour Am eager for a chance to create new memories The ineffective winter sun today shows me the way By Odette Ntambara © 2016 Odette NtambaraReviews
