Hello FearA Poem by Odette NtambaraThis is a piece I wrote in my time of need and needed to get out of the hole I found myself inHello fear! It’s me, we meet yet again I see you have not forget me no matter how much I try to
push you away I tried to escape but it seems you have found your way back
to my door step I would welcome you but I cannot risk letting you in once
again I cried so many tears in your presence before I will not
shed another tear today
Why do you pick me so often? Why do you seek to cripple my success? Why do you seek to ruin my fate? Why do you seek to ruin me in my quest?
Hello fear! It’s me, we meet yet again I remember when you were unkind to me in my darkest hour “Don’t hold me back from my destiny”... I cried in despair
I begged you to free me from your shackles I needed stability, adventure, love, joy all this I could
not accomplish with your constant hovering I asked you to leave me in my pursuit to happiness I pleaded in vain to release me so I can seek my fortunes You ignored my pleas by taking away my ambitions, Ultimately conceding me to a life of limitations What you didn’t know then is that by limiting me you helped
me find my strength to persevere As I left you behind that day I vowed never to be affected
by your motives to diminish my courage
Hello Fear! Today you dare show up on my door step Have you no decency? While you were away I found my courage to aim even higher You are not welcome anymore, Never again will you take me hostage This is my hello and goodbye!
