Nightmares & DemonsA Poem by AmandaTheOddScary stories told by fireside.Blackened windows my cartons are drown keeping all prying eyes from within. My mind on the door across the room, such a distance between us. But yet my mind will not let me go. Paranoid shadows dance in my minds eye, repetitive beat on floorboards existing only in my mind. No such thing as monsters mom. But yet such beating they do on floorboards existing only in my mind. Stories told by mom's and dad's keeping kids up all night but then they say, "it's all in your mind pay no attention to the scratching under your bed." These are the times when kids seek to run and hide putting a pillow over their heads. Mom comes in, "Don't be afraid my child, I will hold you tell your demons have left, and nightmares turn away from your vision."
