Cemetery

Cemetery

A Poem by Odayin

You walk down the street, couldn't care less,

Through the gate, kneel where they rest.

Feeling the marble, soft to the touch,

They know you miss them, just not how much.

Your heart's heavy, the same routine,

Tears rolling, need somewhere to lean.

Stand strong, one last step,

It's all gone, all the will you've kept.

They tell you to move on, but you can't,

You didn't speak, just let them rant.

Time has passed, they let you be.

The blade thrust...now you're free.

Poignant beautiful write kneeling in a cemetery , the resting place trying to find peace or closure. Last line striking.

Very powerful indeed. The last line adds a deeper, darker meaning to the whole piece. I really liked it, but I enjoyed it more just for that last line. The imagery in this is wonderful. I can see the person kneeling before a marble gravestone, while cold wind is blowing leaves around. I can see tears hitting the ground, and then I feel relief as it comes to a close. Very powerful, and full of meaning. Great!

Wow... Thats really good. There's almost a sense of confusion in the pain, but it can only really lead to that one place.
