BrightA Story by MaddieWrote this a while ago. Enjoy yourselves! The bright light of the television was nearly blinding. There were probably just as many stars currently in the sky, as the amount of hours spent sitting here.
The person was very much unknown, yet everyone knew them. They sat there, feeling a bit empty. They got up slowly and proceeded the kitchen, but only walked back to their original place, knowing there wasn't much to eat.
The person quietly set their head back, resting, feeling tired. They closed their eyes, to see the stars through the ceiling of the house. Hundreds, thousands, and millions of them, scattered across the deep velvet sky. Each one twinkled at the person, as if they were greeting them happily into a new, and never before-seen world.
The stars stayed there for a long time, twinkling and bright. But not bright like the television screen, or like the light coming from a lamp, but something different and unexplainable. The brightness was not something loud, blinding, and begging to stand out, but bright as if it could shine without those qualities. The person smiled, realizing they were unexplainably bright too. They new it wouldn't be long. © 2011 Maddie |
