Wish I Could

Wish I Could

A Poem by Mary E. Green
"

My Uncle called @ 12:30am (12/11/07) to say my cousin od'ed, she's ok, thank God but this came to me.

"

Pushing my tears away

My body won't let me cry

I can't but oh how I wish I could

I want to cry for my grandmothers

Cry for my grandfather

and cry for you.

How could you OD?

Is it not enough that we've lost so much this year?

Is it not enough that we've had too many calls?

You say it was an accident

You say you didn't mean to

Yet the evidence points the other way,
Thank God you're recovering

Thank God you didn't die

But how could you of even tried?

Whew! Okay, this one has to be close to home. I've said the same thing about friends of mine in car wrecks. Not able to cry sounds like depression or burnout, both closely related. Very honest emotions. Nice work
