Sorrow

Sorrow

A Poem by Mary E. Green

Another heartache

Broken promises

And unfinished dreams

My tears are surfacing

But once again I will them away

Will the pain away

I don't want to hurt

I don't want to feel

I just want it to be okay

I want it all back to the way it used to be

I have too much to live for

Yet this is no way to live

Ignoring the sadness

"Another heartache ... Broken promises ... And unfinished dreams" Six words, that hurt so much. How many times must we endure these things? How many times must we suffer? Eternally, is my thought. But what do I know I'm just a silly girl in love. I'm just a silly girl who's been hurt because that love is not corresponded. I'm just a silly girl and like you "I don't want to hurt ... I don't want to feel".
