Self Inflicted Wounds

Self Inflicted Wounds

A Poem by Mary E. Green
"

Poems can be about anyone... Thank you.

"

The self inflicted wounds
Scars upon my memory
Hidden pain, invisible surrender
Had no way of understanding
The embedded marks upon my skin
First time hurt like hell
Second wasn't that bad
The third time not at all
My self endured punishment was a sweet release
Became so easy to hide from you
The silent reverie in which I had found
In the comfort of my room
Grabbing what I can
I get ready for another do-it-yourself tattoo
Another mark to inflict upon my skin
Another tear to suppress
With these self inflicted wounds

Well I truly hope things aren't as bad as they seem....I hope you don't hurt yourself as often as you write about it...you seem like an amazing writer! I like this one because it's easy to relate to. Thanks for another great read!
