You woke up.

You woke up.

A Poem by October

You woke up on time every morning

and poured my adolesdence into your coffe as you

planned exactly how you would spend the day.

While I wasted my life,

searching for the words to say.

I’m such a wreck,

glass shards in face.

Blood across my neck.

Do you bleed like me?

You were so blind you couldn’t see.

I was defensless and you hurt me.

I was a little girl and you ignored me.

I can’t change the past,

so let’s change the pace.

I put it inside

set it on fire

self medicated

tried to float higher.

Is there something sane? Something more?

I drink my shame in cupfulls and

eat these pills with a fork.

Do you bleed as much as I do?

Dripping off these words into your plams.

You wanted peace.

I want something more.

You rationalize every plan you devise.

“You either live life or you die”

Teach me to be cold, just like you.
