Haze.

Haze.

A Poem by October

Look towards the sky,
I need air.
I’ve been walking in a fog.
Trying to make sense of the choices,
I’ve been handed.
God, where did you go?
Did ever hear me at all?
You were misplaced,
Lost.
And now confusion is the only thing,
I wake to find.

Bring me out of the fog.
Please,
Help me find my passion.
Under the layer of poison,
With your help I think we could obtain it.
Empty handed now,
I hide with the words written on my palm,
And in my eyes.
You awaken something deep within,
But I can’t find it through the haze.

Sorry wouldn’t even cover it here.
Forgiveness is all but forgotten.
It’s not a goal I can hope achieve.
But, please, don’t regret me.
Your lips that say I’m beautiful.
If only my insides shown out.

Bring me out of the fog.
Please,
Help me find my passion.
Under the layer of poison,
With your help I think we could obtain it.
Empty handed now,
I hide with the words written on my palm,
And in my eyes.
You awaken something deep within,
But I can’t find it through the haze.

Sinking deeper, now,
Guilt my only blanket,
I choose my words carefully.
Trying to find something,
Something that will give me release.
I need to find a way.
I’ve got to find a way.
Mistakes paint my front door red,
Deadly.
Like Carbon Monoxide, I didn’t see it coming.
It strangles me.
I hit the ground and started running.

Bring me out of the fog.
Please,
Help me find my passion.
Under the layer of poison,
With your help I think we could obtain it.
Empty handed now,
I hide with the words written on my palm,
And in my eyes.
You awaken something deep within,
But I can’t find it through the haze.

Wake me.
I need to face the damage I’ve caused.
I need to see the phantoms,
Inside innocent eyes that I’ve planted.
I bow at everyone’s feet,
Lower my unworthy eyes.
It doesn’t do any good.
I am the phantom,
And this is the chase.

Bring me out of the fog.
Please,
Help me find my passion.
Under the layer of poison,
With your help I think we could obtain it.
Empty handed now,
I hide with the words written on my palm,
And in my eyes.
You awaken something deep within,
But I can’t find it through the haze.

I see me how the world does.
A newly recognized w***e,
Out to claim the world.
I’m telling the world the truth,
But sympathy seems to be coming up short.
You were all victims of a stupor,
A metaphoric shadow over my head.
The lies weren’t intentional,
The whispers weren’t as the malicious made them seem.
If nothing else,
Please understand,
I wasn’t meant for this,
Hating myself wasn’t part of the plan.

I just want someone who can,
I just need someone who would,
Bring me out of the fog.
Please,
Help me find my passion.
Under the layer of poison,
With your help I think we could obtain it.
Empty handed now,
I hide with the words written on my palm,
And in my eyes.
You awaken something deep within,
But I can’t find it through the haze.
