two teens opened fire

on a high school,

Highlands Ranch High School,

just past the 

20th anniversary of

Columbine,

and just minutes away

from Columbine.

They left one person dead

and seven others wounded.

May 7th joined

a growing list of 

school shootings

in the United States.

May 18th, 2018.

Makes you really wonder

why are we doing this to ourselves?

We are supposed to be united,

not divided.

Author's Note

Just taking a small break from the story I'm writing. Very sad it happened. It hit close to home, because I know people who live in the Denver/Highlands Ranch area. I was actually pissed when the news where I live (along the Gulf of Mexico) said nothing about it, only the "impending flash flooding". I went to school today (May 8th) and no one knew about it. Really pisses me off when kids are dying and no one says anything about it.

Please don't report this. I understand some people might see it as inappropriate, but it needs to be said.
