A Cage ForgottenA Poem by OctiIt's been a while since I've done anything...so here we I go
Alone sways a cage in the breeze,
its golden paint flaked off long ago, leaving a layer of steel behind, half-covered in rust. Silently sways a cage in the breeze, without birds chirping away from inside. The world around the cage continues on, oblivious of the silence. Hopefully sways a cage in the breeze, hoping that someone might find its way to it and it may hear the music of the world again. Patiently sways a cage in the breeze, the wind continuing to blow gently as years pass and the cage can only see the plants which have grown in around it. Happily sways a cage in the breeze, hearing the soft steps of a child slowly stepping towards it, touching it with the small, soft hands. Joyfully sways a cage in the breeze, the song of a nightingale emits from it and the sound of children laughing fills the air around it.
