A Night of No Sleep
You sit on the edge of your bed, surrounded by complete darkness with the exception of a rather large area of light emitting from where your hands should be. You read the latest little light gray bubble, and quickly type back a response. Swchoop, your phone replies when you tap that white up arrow in the green circle. Your screen is moved up as your latest message is in a green bubble. You check the time. It's past two A.M. As you lay down in your bed, you put the phone face-down on the nightstand next to you and turn off the ringer. 'I won't,' you promise yourself as you turn over one your side away from the phone, 'I won't look at it if it goes off.' A couple seconds later, you are almost asleep when it buzzes and you can see the light push back at the darkness around you. You use all of your self control to not roll over and look at the text. 'It's just a message,' you remind yourself. 'A message that can wait until morning.' Two minutes go by and you're almost asleep when it buzzes again and the light fills the room. But you used up all your self control, so you reach over and pick it up to see what message you claimed could wait until morning.
