So close

So close

A Chapter by Lulu
"

Jake and Micheal are so close to getting what they need before the deadline...Will they make it?

"
"If we get arrested, it's your fault." Micheal said as he looked at the piece of stone in front of him. We were in the middle of the place I never thought I would come back to. My moms grave is not to far away from where Micheal and I are standing. The one in front of us is a strangers, and it makes me sick almost, that this is what my life has come to. I didn't want to do this, but I need the money to be able to pay for college. My family isn't rich, and the college I want to go to cost way to much. I have a job, but this one paid to much to pass up, and Micheal and I are going to split it. This money is my future, and without it I would be miserable.
"So were going to hit up this one and the one down the road?" I asked Micheal as we started to dig.
"Yea, lets hope we find what we need." Micheal said with concern. He is always worried that we will get caught. Were both in all black clothes, with mask. The duffel bag I brought has plenty of room for what we need, Micheal brought the shovels. As we dug, you could see the coffin starting to appear. This one was dark and made out of wood, with carving on the sides and on top. This lady was only 58 when she died, her name Samantha, and she was a owner of a successful company called small design, which made her wealthy.
Once we got the whole coffin un-dug, we lifted it out of the hole and onto the grass. This was the easiest one yet, at least I didn't throw up when we lifted the cover. Inside was bones that looked like dust and the dress she was buried in. I stuck my hand in and knocked around the wood, we have gotten good at this by learning how some people hid the dream catchers. As I knocked there was a hollow sound, and I opened up the secret compartment grabbed what I needed. This is our 4th, and we only need one more and we never have to do what they say again.
"Found it, this ones dirty so were gonna have to clean it before we give it to them." I said as I looked at the dream catcher. This one was royal blue, with white beads and feathers. The netting was grey, which gave it a rustic but modern look .
"Whatever Jake, lets just put everything back how we found it and go to the next one." Micheal whispered as I stuck it in the bag and grabbed the other side of the coffin. Once we got it in there exactly like it was, we started putting the dirt back in the hole. Someone would know that we did this, and they would know what we took. With only 30 dream catchers ever, only the wealthy could afford them, and everyone was looking. We have found 4 by doing our research. There always buried with their owners, or there bad luck. I don't know what the Snaps want with them, but I don't think it's good.
Micheal looked at the what we had just done, he freaks out every time, and this is our 15th dig, and I hope we only have one more. We picked up the bag and the shovels and started walking. The next grave was about two miles away. That was one of the rules, we always have to walk, no cars. Which kinda sucks because its a long walk. Even if the next grave doesn't have a dream catcher, the Snaps will be happy we found one. That's another rule, we can only go see them if we had one. We found that rule out the hard way. When you break a rule you loose money and two days to find the dream catchers. You get 30 days to find five, or no money. Were on day 25, and so far they say we've done the best. With only one left to find and 3 days left, because we broke a rule.
"Jake?" Micheal spoke, breaking the silence between us, only one mile left to go.
"Yea?" I said with curiosity about what he was going to say.
"We're gonna share a dorm together right?" He said with an uneven smirk on his face.
"yea, but I call the bed with the window" At that point we were both laughing out loud. 15 years as my closet friend, and we can still manage to  laugh at anything.
