AbandonmentA Poem by L. CatherineLeft alone in the darkness, Hark! Does someone approach? Nay, tis only the dismal wind Ever taunting at my secludedness. Why have they abandoned me? Their growing affections Only loosened their tie To the planet Earth, To the humanity they held dear. Where have they gone? Has love’s wings Taken them into the clouds Never to be seen again? None shall ever know. They dared to go the distance, But their eyes Were clouded by infatuation. Delicate, sweet humanity, Never loosen your grip on me. © 2011 L. CatherineReviews
