The Closest Shave You'll Ever Get

The Closest Shave You'll Ever Get

A Poem by L. Catherine

With this utensil,

My friend, I’ll unleash a world

Of terror and weak will.

The madness wreaks havoc

Upon the streets of London,

The customers’ end will be tragic.

You sir! How about a shave?

It’ll be the closest I’ve ever gave.

No pain, no gain is what has been said.

There is much gain in pain,

That is what people dread.

So why not come over?

Sweeney’s waiting, while Lovett’s

Just around the bend.

Come and get a shave,

It’ll be your timely end.

I based this poem on one of my favorite movies, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Alan Rickman. Enjoy! :)

Ah, good old Sweeney Todd. This looks like it should be on the back of a movie cover. It's that well-fitting
