Darkness of the MindA Poem by Dan NaveSomewhat Horror but not really. The castle lay dormant the master still up late The moon hidden behind the clouds in such a state the wolves abnormally quiet not a howl to be heard Darkness cast on the land waiting for something to be lured The master peers into the darkness listening to the silence Suddenly a yelp of a wolf then the sounds of violence Growls and yelps and eventually silence yet again In the distance there is nothing but then the dull cracking of bones and the knocks of fangs on flesh The master morbidly curious and his chest depressed Holds in his breathe and catches the scent Blood, marrow, and sinew he catches and then it is spent raving wild beasts from within the depths of his mind they ravage the country at least that what he sees, that kind of monstrosity that caused this disturbance surely that belongs in a circus He scoffs at the notion and gives his back to the darkness As soon as his motion is completed he is mated in chess The shining claws he pictured have slipped into his room The master is gone without a yell the silence restored the murder has bloomed
