I will never know Peace (Go Unheard Part 4)

I will never know Peace (Go Unheard Part 4)

A Poem by Shayne Harnden

It is the last night
With ever passing  minute
With gaining fatigue
With all my will
I try to fight

I think of things that could have been
Leading a normal life
Celebrating the holiday
With friends and next of kin

The tears are coming
I am fighting back hard
When God dealt the hand of life
Nothing good was drawn for my card

Fitting it is as I count my breath
With all the lives I have taken
I fear tomorrow
For it brings my death

There is no person in sight
My company are the stars
On what will be my last night

I kick at the tray of food
For some reason people think
That a death row would eat
How could you be in that mood

I start talking to the stars
Nothing thinking of the words that are said
“I hope your burning in hell now
You B*****d I wish you are dead”

I continue talking
Not hearing what I say
I continue speaking
Until the dawn of following day

I guess I talked to God that
To find some release
Foolish of to think
I should know by now
I will never know peace.

A interesting poem. I had days when I spoke to God. In the end I was talking to my self. A excellent poem. A powerful poem with many strong line that held the poem together. A pleasure to read.

I think death becomes a great calm. It consists of apathy, indifference and all things we can not feel. Complacency. We just are.
This is lovely.

I connected. It's a good piece in my opinion. I empathize with the dark side for there have been times in my life when I felt as if I would never know peace. I know it now, but it took a almost 40 years to get there! ****smiles***

Hmm. Interesting. I guess since I just jumped in here it doesn't make alot of sense but it is very well written. I think I need to go back and read the other parts.
