ShoesA Poem by Shayne HarndenFor a contest
I spent $20
On these shoes Bold white laces Leather paint colored blue The clerk smiled when they rang up these shoes I worked real hard To buy these for you The wind teased my face When I walked out Of that shoe selling place A text saying HELP! Increased my pace Frantically I drove home Against Time I raced. I forgot to turn the car off When I made for the door What I saw next Was my wife bleeding on the floor The paramedics tried all they can do Holding my wife's hand Comforting for what she going through My thoughts drift of you How great you would of looked if you had lived In these Blue New Born pair of Shoes.
