What's left

What's left

A Poem by Shayne Harnden

How does one know what's left?

Gone but once here
A Shadow
A glance
Something to hold dear

I hate that you have flown away
I scream and question
No response
And nothing will you ever say

Once accompanied but now alone
Feeling of your hand
All that is here for me
Is that stone

I don't ask forgiveness for what's been done
Truth is despite the victory
None can say
That our war was ever won

Losing you feels like the ultimate theft
No voice
But only echos
Truly....How does one know what's left?
