![]() For I Am At PeaceA Poem by ObscurityNone![]() Free-verse![]() Turn a thin shoulder Blind a shallow reddened eye You won’t get a glance, Not a reaction For I am at peace With the makings of this world The flows, the ebbs, and lows For it to mend, and the gifts it bestows No longer is there taint, hatred running so deep A vein of lament, regret and self-hate Lining the edgy mass that once was myself For I am at peace What lay in my core that can be scorn? Is but retribution, for coming transgression Even that, if given time, can strip away There is no room for a lining of any kind No matter how coarse, how soft, or luxurious For I am at peace Only water now, simple, flexible, and Able to fill ones cup, and tear ones home from under Maybe crash, maybe
soothe, maybe Just maybe, a cool breeze, and a soft touch Will allow the waters to cease Cease seclusion, cease indifference Cease the innate ability to gradually pull Away from shore, upon entering, For that time to come, I have not the slightest clue However, I can patiently wait, wait for you For I am at peace © 2012 ObscurityNone |
