Thrown Away

Thrown Away

A Poem by Sue Low

If someone were to reach out their hand
to me
I would fall and sink into the land
dead to thee
Who taught the flowers to grow up towards the sun?
so wild and free
I wish someone could teach me how to run
get off the ground and flee
Spiritless I am thrown asunder
Lorelei left, me to exist in wonder
Because I yield to what I ought
Never will I win, I have not fought
Through my fingers time slips lifeless
Someone, please just extend some tenderness
