Awkward Pause

Awkward Pause

A Poem by Obscure Meaning
"

Oh that beautiful moment when dead silence strikes

"
Convocations easy
Words flow quickly, communicating
Conveying opinions, sharing knowledge

Yet in time all this stops
Awkward pause is here to stay
Looming over with its dark foreboding shadow
Cast deep-set over the participants

Sighs, Yawns, anything utilized to disguise it
Ignore it's perpetual existence

Yet both know it is there.
Hovering.
Squatting defiantly

What really happens is we talk too much

Yet not saying anything
Hiding that which should be spoken
Replacing it with a 'Hi' or 'You all right'?
Knowing the response off by heart.

The day another announces how they truly feel
they will be free of Awkwards' pause
Say what they want to say,
Anything at all
Maybe even
I love you.

immediately, I must comment that the concept driving this piece is amazing, so congrats on thinking well before scrawling out a poem!

I wonder as to the purpose of repeating and underlining YET. It struck me as very odd, but created a tiny shrieking voice to the narrative flow. I kept hearing someone shrieking yet, yet, yet as the piece went along. If that was your intent, ta-da.

TYPO ALERT: What really happens is we talk to much

should be too much (the second "o" indicates excessive measure of noun).
Viva la and thanks for posting
