Babble.

Babble.

A Poem by Sarah Marie

                                                        "No. I...I just couldn't
"Oh but you must. Or rather i insist."
"Well if you put it that way, why should i say no?"

Foolish child.
tisk, tisk, tisk
But you're absolutely right. Why should you say no? I fear that word isn't very familiar in your wide spread vocabulary. That should be fixed.
Say no to this.
Say no to that.
What can i say yes to?

I know, everything they tell me to say no to.
I was never one to conform.

But enough about me. I'm forgetting my point. Oh yes, now i remember. Foolishness. A common visitor I'm afraid. Ill never understand why it receives such pleasure feeding on us and sucking us dry.
It's not negativity if its true.
And trust me sweetheart, it's true.
You're not happy. I can read it in your eyes. I can feel it in your touch.
To be blunt, you're a terrible actor.

But please don't mind me. Carry on.
Life needs a jester, a fool, some form of entertainment.
It's a shame they'll be laughing at you, not with you.
Whats even sadder is that ill be just another face in the crowd with a smile stretching from ear to ear.

Enough of this "hide and seek".
I was always terrible with games.

Great work here, a contradicting irony, fascinating. We now what to say now to, we don;'t know what to yes to, and foolishness eats us alive. Amazing, yes... Who is the fool - who teaches us, or the taught ones. It is only natural that "no" implies interest and curiosity. Yes - well, it tunes down these emotions.

You have penned a great picture with this poem, not even giving an example what to say "yes" or "no" to, mindgames, love this poem.

Thank you very much for sharing!

Seems like a simple concept on the surface...far from it! This is an Excellent thought provoking piece! Really gives the reader something to ponder on. I think the answer to the "yes" and "no" is Brilliant! Keep up the Outstanding works of art.
