Chapter 3A Chapter by OMGkittieJayden is conflicted
Do-Do-Do
I'm a loser. A disgrace. ~~~~~~ Jayden got out of his car with the same clothes that he had on last night. He slammed his car door shut and walked into 'The Moose'. He got his normal greeting from customers and co-workers. "Jayden, how's your forehead?" Freddy asked darkly. Freddy was a tall man, he had some muscle. And light brown hair with blue eyes. He was a bartender too. "How's your stomach?" Jayden snapped back. "Just a scratch." Freddy said with a smile. Jayden smiled back, "Same here." "My little boy!" Father shouted out as he hugged Jayden. Father was, also, tall and in his fifties. With black hair and dark brown eyes. He took Jayden in as his own son, when Jayden was six years old. "Hello, Father." Jayden said hugging Father back. "Come in the back. I have a job for ya." Father said, throwing an arm over Jayden's shoulder. Freddy gave out a snicker and Jayden flipped him off. "Be nice to Freddy." Father scolded lightly, going to the side of the bar and opening the red curtain for Jayden. In the Back was the other half of the bar. Liquor was stored there and illegal weapons, drugs, and other liquor that's illegal. Father was actually a mafia boss and practically runs this city. "Drink?" Father asked, walking around Jayden and to the shelf of liquor. "Yes, please." Jayden said, sitting down at the old round table that was squished into the room. Father place a glass in front of Jayden and poured him some kind of alcohol in the glass. Father sat down next Jayden and pour himself his drink. Jayden took a sip and quickly regretted it. The illegal liquid burned his throat. Father tilted his head back and drank his whole glass. "Ahh! Strong stuff!" Father said, slamming his glass down. Jayden nodded as he gently set his, still full, glass down. "So, Jayden have you ever heard about the Dejall company?" Father asked, getting serious. "Actually, I have." Jayden confirmed. "I don't know much but they just expanded and just moved into the city just a few weeks ago." Jayden explained. Father nodded, "And you know what that means. This Dejall.. Needs to know who's in charge. Find out who 'new comers' are and give the report to me." Father said with a sinister smirk. Jayden went home and put new clothes on. A dark blue sweater with another pair of dark jeans. He put his old converse back on though. He walked out of his apartment, locking the door behind him. He stepped out into the crowd of people. "Sorry." he mumbled to an old lady as he bumped into her. He walked into a flower store and pulled out the old lady's clip (*see below*) and counted the money. 127 dollars. Jayden snorted at the old lady's stupidity. Why carry this much money? "Can I help you sir? the clerk behind the counter asked Jayden. "Yeah, I'm looking for flowers." Jayden said, putting the money away. "Well, you came to the right store! Who are they for? Mother, grandmother, sick friend, girlfriend?" the clerk asked. "Boyfriend." Jayden said quickly, stepping up to the counter and looking at all the hanging flowers. "Aaahhh! I see! I'll make something special then." The clerk said, turning around and looking at all the vases behind him. "So, may I ask who this dame is?" The clerk said finding a tall but thin vase and placing it on the counter. "Mitchell. His name is Mitchell." Jayden said, not really wanting to talk about his love life with a complete stranger. "Is this 'Mitchell' a good man?" the clerk asked, putting some green leaves in the vase. Jayden just nodded. The clerk noticed the frown on Jayden's face. "Mitchell is a good man..But." the clerks voice rang out in the store. "You are not a good man?" Jayden shrank back. "Well, I think. You are a good man. Bringing flowers to Mitchell is a good thing. Takes a lot of thought into it." The clerk said, putting dark red roses in the vase. "Not really. Just decided to buy him some flowers." Jayden said, a little sourly. He threw all the money on the counter and took the vase. Jayden looked up at the skyscraper and sigh. He walked in and went straight to the lady behind the counter. "How may I help you?" the lady asked with a sweet smile. "I'm here to see Mitchell DeJall." Jayden said. The lady typed on her computer, still smiling, and then looked up back at Jayden. "Do you have a appointment?" she asked. Jayden was confused.. What was with the typing? "No, but if you call him and say 'Jayden is here.'.." Jayden said, bitterly. The lady sigh with her smile still on. She picked up the office phone and dialed a some numbers. "Yes, Mr. DeJall. A 'Jayden' is here. Oh! Okay." She said into the phone and hang up. "Top floor, the biggest office there." the lady said, before pointing to the elevators. There was security desk by the elevators and a metal detector too. Jayden swallowed the lump in his throat as he walked up to the fat security guard. "Whatcha got there, son?" the guard asked. "Just flowers." Jayden answered, looking up at ceiling. Right at the security camera. The guard took the flower from Jayden as he point at the metal detector. "Step through there." The guard said as he looked through the flowers. Jayden stepped through and sigh in relief it didn't go off. Jayden got the flowers back and stepped into the elevator. He pushed the 32 button and waited as he went up. It seem like forever but floor 32, finally came. Jayden stepped off the elevator as he saw people talking on the phone, typing on their computers, or writing something down in a hurry. Jayden walked through the maze of dividers and up to the big a*s office with shutters down. Jayden suddenly felt nervous. Why does he always get flustered around this guy!? Jayden blushed and knocked gently on the door. He probably should of knock harder. Mitchell probably didn't hear it. "Come in." Rang Mitchell's voice as Jayden twisted the door knob. "Jayden! Come sit down!" Mitchell said, standing up and gesturing the sit in front of him. Jayden curse at Mitchell for wearing his normal suit and tie. He framed him so amazingly! "I-I got these for you." Jayden said, his face getting redder by the second. "Thank you! I appreciate it." Mitchell said taking the flowers and setting it by his computer. "I actually have something to ask you." Mitchell said as Jayden sat down in the chair in front of Mitchell's desk. "The office is having a celebration about moving here, and I wanted you to come with me as my date." Mitchell offered. "Sure." --- Jayden was back in a familiar atmosphere. Walking down the side walk as people buzz around. For some odd reason, Jayden stopped walking. He looked at the building he stood in front of. It was a bakery. Jayden looked through the store window to see a couple. They were feeding each other sweets and giggling at each other. "We could have that." a voice came out. Jayden jumped as he clenched his heart. His conscious was standing next to him. "But we can't. " Jayden said looking back at the couple. "I don't see why not. We can have a great life with Mitchell." His conscience said. "Yeah, and have him killed by some punk a*s b***h getting even with Father?" Jayden asked, angrily. "We can protect Mitchell though. And-" His conscience started to argue. "I know we can protect Mitchell but for how long? I would like to love someone that can accept me for what I do. And what I do can get him killed. Anyway, I'm just being his "boyfriend" to get know him and his employees. Do whatever I have to do and hopefully leave Mitchell forever." Jayden snapped at himself. "You didn't just said that!" his conscience yelled at him, angry. Jayden walked away from the bakery store, alone with his thoughts. © 2014 OMGkittie |
