PATIENCE’S REWARDS            a poem

 

Darling I heard you were wondering, why I rejected you,            No, it wasn’t because I hate you or that I didn’t see your use,                                     It wasn’t  because you don’t look good enough or don’t have enough money,                            It wasn’t because I thought you would never be able to provide me with the love I need,

But instead sweet one, it was the opposite.                                       The fact that you able to fulfil everything on the list,                   the fact that I will feel like the only one in the world,                 the knowledge that says I’ll be your favourite girl...

But darling wait, you must understand, I was warned by letter written by Patience’s hand.

He said, “ Don’t rush my child into things you do not fully understand as yet, go on and wait for the rewards are plenty,                                               For those who are patient they won’t ever regret it..                                                                      My rewards are great and quite satisfying.                                                                          You will find your true love, this I can promise.                       For all I can say he might already be in your midst.

But be careful dear child, for it will seem tempting,                 when unaware charmers come to you right when you feel empty.                         You will fall more than once, this I cannot stop,But your patience will save you from many not worthy of your love. �"with longing care, Patience.”
