Friendship

Friendship

A Poem by O3iu06
"

Friendship - overcoming the barriers, giving others your time.

"
Part of everyone
An integral part of life
Often forgotten

Knowing no limits
Age, gender, race, religion
They do not matter

Arises in time
Often when least expected
Beyond family ties

Family is given
Assigned from the day of birth
A match from Heaven

Friends are chosen
Everyone must find their own
A match from Heaven

Give people a chance
That is how to find a friend
A real gift of life

Those that accept you
Completely for who you are
Are worth the effort

Similar interests
Hobbies, likes, activities
Always help friendship

One that gives you time
They want to gain your friendship
A true gem in life

Age doesn't matter
Simply a number ignored
Lost in true friendship

Gender could care less
Doesn't matter in the least
Lost in true friendship

Race and religion
The real meaning of freedom
Lost in true friendship

Friends are worth the time
Give those who want it a chance
They deserve your time

Author's Note

Friendships should not be hindered by differences that cannot be controlled (age, gender, race, religion). If someone is making an effort to get your attention, give it to them because they might become a new friend.

I just think giving everyone a chance in friendship could help them out but it could also help you. Like you can both lift each other up when ones feeling upset, or just have someone there to listen. The years of knowing each other might not even matter. You could talk to them for a week and feel like you have known each other for several years and it wont even matter. Just being able to pick each other up, makes each other laugh, sharing memories, just defines a friendship.
But I loved your poem it shows the definition of friendship:)

Very true yet I think of an old song called smiling faces. Some times they don"t always tell the truth, bbeware of the handshake that hides a snake.I wrote Sheepskin" that can shed some light on it. I like your poem and this is true things shouldn't make a difference but true friends are rare and few,Yet fake friends are like autumn leaves you see them everywhere

There are no accidents in life.Everybbody comes into our lives for a reason, could bbe for just one meeting,or a life long relationship rather romantic or platonic.I have discovered we have very few friends in life.Mostly we have aquaintaintances.Though sad but money is another bbarrier we have for friends but an excellent poem
