One Frightful NightA Poem by NyxShort dark poem that just popped out of my head, much to my surprise as I don't write poems. One frightful night, a harrowing sight. Arms of the scarecrow swung down, face cracked to a hollow frown. I dashed out the way, flat over the bay, yet within its grip, I felt myself slip. It scratched and it clawed, ripped as it pawed and tore off my silver ring. Scattered and broke, I gasp as I choke, yet no good will pass, I lay dead in the grass. Victim of the farmyard king. © 2010 NyxAuthor's Note
