Smile

Smile

A Story by Nyx Myrkur
"

So many people feel alone or forgotten.

"
You see that pale, white haired teen over there? Everyone calls him a freak, because he is an albino. You see that quiet kid on the bleachers? No one even remembers he exists. You see that loud, smiling boy on the field? The smiles are hiding the hurt he feels when he hears people make fun of him. You see that tall kid in the library? He hides his emotions because he learned that making friends only got you hurt. You see that blond, scowling German child standing on the side of the field? No one tried to befriend him, because he actually payed attention in class. You see that happy, laughing kid on the playground? His laughter disguise the grief he feels every time he's called stupid, or weak. You see the angry looking boy sitting on the field? No one bothered to get to know him, because of his grandfather was head of the school. You see that kid next to the albino? He never got a chance to have a friend, because he was written off as a pervert because he was French. You see that long, black haired boy on the blacktop? He's standing alone because all he learned that the only thing friends teach you is that they'll always betray you in the end. You see that quiet, Japanese boy in the art room? He's standing alone because he was the "geek" because he wasn't afraid to do what he loved. You see that bushy browed kid in the classroom? He's sitting there alone because he was written off as the insane kid when he presented his writing on the very first day. When you see these kids, appreciate them. Remember them. Talk to them. Befriend them. Comfort them. Understand them. Help them. Stand up for them. These children aren't just having a bad day, they think that their alone. Take the time to say,
"Hi. I really like your art."
or simply take the time to smile at them. One smile can save a light from going out, and one smile can be the thing that turns their life around. Take the time to notice these outcasts, and wave to them. It may show them that they ARE noticed, they ARE appreciated, they ARE nice, but they AREN'T alone.

I agree with this...so many people hide what is actually going on inside and no one seems to take the time to just talk to them. I think everyone loves a bubbly person talking to them since they do smile and laugh and i believe brightens up the mood..that could just be me though.

Good Job
