Reality

Reality

A Poem by Peace Nyumbaiza

Reality, like a nose that is out of sight, can be ignored, but can never be missed.
The footsteps from the walk of my journey still echoes in my head, as if to be an ancient drum beat by the hands of rhythm himself.

Always renouncing the comfort of oblivion and risking all peace, in desire of exposure to reality.
Reality, sounds a little less painful than the mark which it leaves.
Reality hit as if to kill.
The promise of truth turns into nothing but the distance between forgotten and unfulfilled.

We promised not to grow up too fast, admit it, we were defeated even before the tongue hit the top of the mouth to provoke an adversary reaction.
Before the ear got drunk from words of malice, and got filled with bovine vanities from the lips of life.
As she smiled with her Crockett teeth, her eyes piercing through all hope as if to be the tip of a knife gashing through the bony spine of dead flesh.
The reality of life like an old shirt, wants to be worn with pride.
He takes pleasure in watching your eye brows in attempt to meet in the art of forming a frown.

Reality, like a fool, can be ignored, but can never be missed.
