Chapter 5

 The pair opened the door and with great haste started throwing things in. “Should I bring a healing vial?” Velm asked “Or should I save it for something else? I don’t know if the monsters in that cave are strong…” “Oh of course they aren’t.” Mipsy responded cheerfully “Talinia would never put us in dangers. She’s kinda more like a sister really. Well I never really had a sister so she’s more like my second mother really since my mother is " well " um…”

“…dead.” finished Velm for her. Mipsy held her tears for one second before bursting into deep dismay and sobbed hard into Velm’s shoulders. Velm, being untrained in the arts of comforting another human being, was patting her head rather awkwardly and turning red. After a few minutes he spoke up. “Mipsy, we can’t leave Talinia. We have to go. If we don’t, she’ll start looking for us and I don’t think you want her to see you in this state.” Mipsy nodded and continue packing the rest of the things in silence. Her mother was gone from this world and Mipsy would never ever get to see or be with  her again.

 

Velm went to Talinia first and she looked over his shoulder “Where is she? She’s needed to be here in ten minutes! You didn’t lock her up did you?” she added to Velm who shook his head “I’m here! Sorry I just had to find some things!” Mipsy ran into the room. She tried to hide her red eyes but being a experience archer, Talinia’s sharp eyes saw them right away. “Mipsy what’s wrong with your eyes? Did you get enough sleep?” “Oh yes I did, I just accidently touched a garlic then rubbed my eye! Always happen you know!” Mipsy’s voice had gone up an octave and was now wavering. Talinia raised her eyebrow and then said “All right you two listen up,” she said “We’re going to a cave south of here that has weaker monsters. It’s called la grotta di conoscere sempre. Don’t ask me what that means.”

Mipsy’s eyes grew wide with excitement. For the first time they were going off on an adventure. This was much better than going with Rohan and his silly little gang “How far is the cave from here?” she asked Talinia “Well it has to be a cave not too far away but not too close. Its actually six or seven miles walk so be prepared. There aren’t any paths so we have to judge our position by my compass. Are you guys ready?” “Yes!” Mipsy and Velm said at the same time and followed Talinia to the south gate where they exited the city of Prontera.
