Better Days

Better Days

A Poem by Nydeoni
"

Before you leave me, Will you share a dance with me Under the starry sky On the moonlit road Where we used to laugh?

"

If I give you the key,

Will you keep it safe?

Will you put it on a golden chain

Made for kings,

And wear it like royalty?

Before you walk away,

Can we save this moment

And freeze it in time

To last an eternity?

Before you leave me,

Will you share a dance with me

Under the starry sky

On the moonlit road

Where we used to laugh?

And as I say my last goodbyes,

I want you tell me that you’ll be back,

To tell me of the endless

Sea of skyscrapers,

And countless days you spent

Following those undying dreams of yours.

But most importantly,

As you hug me before

You leave for better days,

Will you tell me

That you’ll never lose

The key to my box of secrets?

Will you tell me

That you’ll keep it safe

For as long as you live?

And to settle my aching heart,

And to calm my dying soul,

I will follow the stars and

Send the paper cranes fluttering

Until fate brings us back together.
