until the next sunrise

until the next sunrise

A Poem by Nyaa

Smiles disappear

Like the sun from the sky

At a quarter past 5

On a cold winter night

Remnants of its presence

Somewhere off in a distance

I sit.

Patiently.

Waiting.

For night to turn day

Like the sun in the sky I see a smile on your face

I sit. And stare. Until my eyes start to water

And my face starts to burn from the glare of your stare

I can see your heart skipping up and down your lips

Never missing a beat to the melody of my heart pounding against my chest

Cold sweats drip down my spine

As i look at the time
