Cotton Candy CloudsA Poem by Nya Joy SimmonsI wrote this poem in fourth grade and added and edited it this year! It was my first published piece.
Cotton Candy Clouds
I see cotton candy clouds, and gum ball parking meters, Year round green grass, and more writers than readers, Bees have no sting, and penguins can fly, It is simply impossible for babies to cry! The sky's always blue, and it snows jellybeans, As the butterfly, the humans eye is quite keen, Mickey mouse is real, and the governor is Dumbo, And guess what still exists, that amazing bird the dodo, Everything is free and there's no such thing as mean, Threatening Predators are oh so rarely seen, Adults are just kids and kids don't act grown up, And instead of cupcake it is called cake cup !!! Lions and lambs play hopscotch together and snake sleep with mouse, There's no such thing as poverty and everyone has a house, Truffles aren't expensive and there is no smelly cheese, There is no peas in the pod, there's only pod in the peas, There is a yellow brick road and the wizard grants your wishes, Meals fall from the sky so kids don't have to wash dishes, I think of all these things with a smile on my face, Oh no the bell just rang! Gotta get out of this place!!! © 2013 Nya Joy SimmonsAuthor's Note
