Imagination CanvasA Poem by Nya Joy SimmonsThis poem goes deep into your imagination so that you may design yourself to be whatever you crave to be.
I think my paints are ready,
I've got red, green, purple, blue, Plopped onto my palette, But what am I to do? Should I draw myself in Kansas? Or a mansion in Brazil? Should I have a farari, And a shirt colored in teal! I can have whatever I want, Anything that comes to mind, My paintbrush nears the board, And I draw a little sign, I paint it in with yellow, And write "The Joyful Place" I decided it's a theatre, And begin to draw my face. My pictures almost complete, With a dog, a car and food! Yet Im missing one last thing, How was this to conclude? I decided to let it be, And set my brush on down, Yet something really was missing, My smile went to a frown! Several minutes later, My Ah Ha moment came! I needed to know I believed it! Or my painting wouldn't shine the same! I believe I have my theater, And my mansion in the hill! I believe I have my dog and car, I believe I live in Brazil! Many years later, I looked back at my piece, My play had been produced, And my life was at peace. I had a dog and a nice car, And I lived up on a hill, I happily resided, In my house in Brazil. © 2013 Nya Joy SimmonsAuthor's Note
