BoundariesA Poem by Nwang
We hear them laugh
We hear them scream On darkened alleys And empty fields. Cooped up inside, Confined by boundaries. They break off their chains And follow the heat. Muffled voices converse in the shadows As demons lurk behind The victim screams Superman does not come Nor does lightning strike. The next hour, minute, second Half-screams, silent tears, cursed heavens And animals unleashed The disappearing boundaries, Of accursed beings Their voices in colourful scenes, Temptations of a creature Confined in chains Unleashed on blood and flesh The second, minute, hour After half-screams, silent tears and cursed heavens. A woman, her handbag and broken heels.
